Klarna Becomes Most Valuable Private Fintech in Europe
Swedish fintech firm raised $460 million in equity from investors including Silicon Valley venture capital company Dragoneer, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and funds managed by the world’s largest asset management group BlackRock. Snoop Dogg and Sequoia Capital, one of the most renowned venture capital firms in the world, are among Klarna's other investors.
Klarna's valuation has risen from $2.5 billion at the start of this year to $5.5 billion today. The firm provides online financial services such as payment solutions for online storefronts, direct payments, post purchase payments and more. Its core service is to assume stores’ claims for payments and handle customer payments.
