Uber & Lyft Taxi Drivers Go On Strike
Uber and Lyft drivers are planning a two-hour strike in several major cities around the world. They will log off the apps from 7AM to 9AM on May 8th, so it could be a problem to find a person to give you a lift. This strike is meant to coincide with Uber’s forthcoming IPO scheduled for May 9th. Taxi drivers are struggling for higher pay and better working conditions.
Why is it important?
So far drivers in San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Washington, as well as in London, Birmingham, Nottingham and Glasgow, reported to be joining the strike. Beware if you are planning to use a taxi in the morning.
