Almost 1 Billion Dollars In Bitcoins Was Transfered From Silk Road Related Wallets
Silk Road is the first of its kind darknet marketplace that appeared in 2011 and became a popular platform for buying and selling drugs for bitcoins. Two years later the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) shut it down. Since that all the bitcoins associated with Silk Road were considered to be irretrievably lost.
Why is it important?
It does not really matter who owns these crypto wallets. It is important that selling such a huge amount of bitcoins may influence the price of the main cryptocurrency in a negative way.
